Brief History of the Department

The Department of Education started its journey in the academic year 2014-15 with a few students in the former campus of Kazi Nazrul University at Burnpur, Asansol. The Department was then shifted to the ground floor of Vidya Charcha Bhavan, Main Campus, Kazi Nazrul University in the year 2015. Initially the Department was run by Guest Faculties. In the month of December, 2015 two permanent faculties joined in the Department. Again, in the year 2018, another two permanent faculties joined in the Department. Students from this Department are serving in schools selected through West Bengal School Service Commission and West Bengal Board of Primary Education, qualified UGC-NET, SET and serving as Guest Lecturer in various Higher Education institutions. Friendly atmosphere with mutual respect is the speciality of the Department.

The Department of Education, Kazi Nazrul University has a vision to provide significant contributions to the society with respect to knowledge, skill and value and to promote skills for sustainable development. Education as a means to a better future for everyone, the Department of Education provides high quality learning, teaching and research.
We see education as a powerful means of personal and social change within the broader local and global community. The Department of Education strives to build a learners' community that encourages and inspires reflective educators who share our core values. The Department of Education will address various critical issues related to the educational policies and use of technology to enlarge and support learning opportunities and make the students more research oriented in synchronize with the twenty-first century workplaces.

•  to foster basic technology related skills and other soft skills for proper adjustment with the present world.
• to build capacity and confidence of students through various  activities in the Department.
•  to encourage students for sustainable work practices
• to train, orient and mentor the students in the pursuit of academic excellence and to keep the quest go on ceaselessly with inclusive and holistic student centred approach, cogent intellectual guidance, and stewardship.
• to enhance various activities through formal and informal interactions in order to fulfill the sustainable development goals.
• to provide 21st century skills through various activities for smooth working  in 21st century workplaces.
