The Department of Applied Psychology, KaziNazrul University started its journey in the year 2015. The department got its first batch convocated in 2018. The department is the first post-graduate department in West Bengal to run a syllabus based on CBCS system. The department is offering 3 specializations currently Clinical Psychology, Organizational Psychology and Rehabilitation Psychology to its credit. The Department has an official collaboration with Centre for Counselling and Positive Psychology of KaziNazrul University. Students of the Department run a wall magazine titled ‘MonerAntorale’.

The department has laboratory facilities for conducting psychological experiments and psychological testing (diagnostic assessments, personality assessments, IQ assessments and rating scales) on humans as well as clinical populations referred from different mental health institutes and professionals.
The department has a small departmental library consisting of the specimen copies received by the department faculties, journal of the university and photocopies of some rare books and dissertation done by the students. The students can issue them for their reference.
