RESEARCH CELL


Date of Formation: 14.03.2018


Function: To oversee and supervise Ph.D. programmes of the university. It spells out the regulation and policy decisions in this regard clearly among all the stakeholders and carry out the PhD related issues according to the rules and regulations as notified by the University rule book and relevant notifications from time to time. It coordinates with all the academic departments and the administrative wing, the concerned central research committee of the University and facilitates the smooth conduction of the PhD research programmes in the University right from the time of the admission, coursework completion, title registration and successful completion of the Research degrees. All its functions are regulated by the University rules and regulations and statues.

The Research Cell was formulated in the Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol on March, 2018 under the leadership of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor. It has been formed to facilitate and promote Research Degree Programmes in the different departments of 4 faculties viz. (i) Arts, Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Traditional Art Forms; (ii) Commerce and Management; (iii) Law, Education, Journalism and Mass Communication, Library Science and Physical Education; and (iv) Science, Technology and Vocational Studies. It shall function for the implementation of University Regulations for Ph.D. Programmes.


Objectives:


  1. It will facilitate smooth conduction of PhD research programmes, will disseminate relevant information to the newly admitted research scholars so that they can be aware about various rules and regulations related to their PhD research degrees, it also promotes in this way the spirit of quality research among the students.

  2. The Research Cell has been created to establish an interactive research environment between all fields including science, engineering, management, social sciences, law, literature, art and culture etc.

  3. Some of the major activities of this cell will be to help in enrolment of the Ph.D. students.

  4. To inculcate a desire to do quality research in those who are yet to get their Ph.D. and to show more avenues for research to those who have already got their Ph.D.'s.

  5. To create the right ambience for research in the University campus.

  6. Research Cell will perform any other activity from time to time as advised by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor.
